The good news is our team gets to play another ACC team in Virginia who is averaging 8926 fans a game so it will be a fun holiday travel and great experience, plus I think Virginia is visiting us next year and this match up only raises our profile as this years schedule has three Pac 10 Teams and two ACC teams.
Now for the not so good news...UV is 7-3, they lost to Stanford and Washington, both are common upcoming opponents - this is going either to be a "David beats Goliath" or "Goliath stomps the hell out of David." story line
Here are some interesting stats (or ugly depending on ones perspective) C Money (Coach Dollar) probably is pretty familiar with their Coach Tony Bennett formerly of WSU. UV averages 66.6 ppg, shoots 45% from the field and 44% from behind the arc (whoa) and 74% from the charity stripe. UV has an RPI rating of 50 the Redhawks have an RPI of 320 - the lower the better just to let you readers know.
Now I don't even want to publish how I think the end result will be - I want all of us Redhawk fans to keep the faith and know there are some positives that are present and this growth is a marathon not a sprint.
One of my all time favorite sports movies is "On any given Sunday" with Al Pacino about how on any given day a sports team can win no matter what the stats and so my fingers are crossed that there will be a new movie on my all time list..."On any Given Wednesday!"
